Wrinkle-Relaxing Treatments

Wrinkle-Relaxing Treatments

in Garden City, NY

Wrinkle-relaxing injectable treatments, the category many people know by the brand names Botox®, Dysport®, and Xeomin®, are one of the most common ways to soften the lines that form from years of natural facial expression.

They use a purified, medical-grade formulation that a physician places, in small amounts, into specific muscles to temporarily reduce the activity that folds and creases the overlying skin.

These brand names are different formulations within the same general treatment category; they are not interchangeable, and the right choice for you is an individualized clinical decision made with Dr. Srivastava at your consultation. The goal at MAX MD is a refreshed, natural result, you still look expressive, just more rested.

TYPES OF WRINKLE RELAXER SERVICES WE OFFER

Crow's Feet

Softens fine lines at the outer corners of the eyes caused by smiling and squinting, creating a smoother, more refreshed look while keeping your expression natural.

Forehead Lines

Smooths horizontal forehead wrinkles by relaxing the muscles that repeatedly crease the skin—helping you look more rested without an “overdone” appearance.

Glabella (Between Eyes)

Targets the “11 lines” between the eyebrows that can make you look tense, tired, or upset. Treatment relaxes the area for a calmer, more approachable expression.

Lip Lines

Reduces the appearance of vertical lines around the mouth (often called lipstick or smoker’s lines) to help create a smoother upper lip area without affecting normal movement.

And More!

Wrinkle-relaxing treatment can also be used for areas like bunny lines, chin dimpling, neck bands, jawline slimming, gummy smile correction, and more — depending on your goals and facial anatomy.

Several formulations exist within this category; Dr. Srivastava selects the approach based on your goals and anatomy.

  • How long do results last?

Temporary, commonly around three to four months, varying by individual, area, and metabolism. A maintenance schedule is discussed at consultation.

  • Is there downtime?

Most people resume normal activities the same day. Brief aftercare includes avoiding rubbing the treated area, strenuous exercise, and lying flat for several hours.

  • Who is not a candidate?

Suitability is individual. People who are pregnant or breastfeeding, have certain neuromuscular conditions, or have a history of allergic reaction may not be candidates. Dr. Srivastava reviews this at consultation.

Post Treatment

  • After care tips

Neurotoxin procedures need only a little downtime or recovery period, and you’re free to resume your daily activities after getting your injections. To minimize the side effects and avoid affecting the results of your treatment, here are a few reminders to practice after your treatment:

    • Don’t touch the treated area. Touching it right after your procedure can affect the results. There’s also the risk of transferring bacteria from your hands to your face, which can cause a skin infection on the injection area.
    • Avoid laying down after your treatment. Not only can this risk causing the Botox to spread to surrounding facial muscles, but there’s also the risk of falling asleep, rolling over, and pressing against the treated area. Wait at least four hours before lying down.
    • Avoid strenuous activity. This can increase your blood pressure and promote bruising in the treatment area. It can take up to two weeks for bruises to fade.
    • Avoid heat exposure. This includes sun exposure and hot environments like hot showers, saunas, etc. The heat can trigger your sensitive injected area, which can cause redness and irritation. It can also increase your blood flow, which can promote bruising.
